About Hope

Hope Kinchen was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She began to study photography at the Cleveland Institute of Art when she was a teenager. Later she earned an associates degree at Rochester Institute of Technology and then a BFA at Ohio University. She has completed some graduate study at the University of Florida.

After college, she was fortunate to travel and live in many different states and cities. She has enjoyed her recent return to Jacksonville, Florida moving back in July of 2002. Hope has also been an adjunct professor at two community colleges in New York. Last year, two of her images received Best in Show color and Best of Show black and white in a juried NY gallery competition. Hope has also placed in the Florida Press Club awards every year she has been in the state of Florida.

Most people recognize her work from its unique style. She has had much of her work published in the Florida Times-Union and The Business Journal while on staff at the Times-Union and as the staff photographer at the Business Journal. Currently, she is a freelance photographer.
